Dillon's Cute...
I had to get this recorded. I always tell Dillon that he is cute, and he in returns says that Momma is cute. The other day he started listing off our entire family - including grandparents. Enjoy! Of course Payson had to get on camera also.
4th of July Celebration Week
Wednesday is a strange day for a holiday. Or you can be our family and find ways to celebrate all week long. We have been in the house for about a month now, so we finally were ready for some friends to enjoy a bbq and check out the new digs. House is looking great - still trying to get picture frames on the wall ( as you can see on the mantle in the picture below). I was trying to work on this project when Payson set up his version of "Cars Land" and I thought it would be good to document how he once fit under the mantle. I think it will be to compare as he gets older!
We love so many elements of the new house, but we really love that we live closer to our good friends the Petrek's. Payson and Jake met at Highlands Ranch Learning Center and have been best buddies ever since. Jake has a little sister Lila that is a few weeks younger then Dillon and we have already planned out their prom outfits together. We walked over to Jake and Lila's for dinner and we were too excited to eat once Payson and Dillon saw the Slip 'n Slide!
Lila coming in for a hug from Dillon!
Next on Payson and Dillon's social agenda was a bbq at Drake and Lauren's house. All of the boys had so much fun jumping in Drake's new trampoline. I was jealous of Jenny and Hunter as they sat with their quiet and content girls while I chased the boys all over the place. After changing into their jammies the big boys continued playing outside where they had a monster hunt. It was very serious business. We were able to get them to stop a few times for some pictures!
The actual 4th of July was spent celebrating at our friend's the Glen's house. Margot has been my friend forever, and Todd and I love to be able to hang out with Margot and Robert and their two boys. It was quite the neighborhood block party. Shaved Ice Truck included.
Unfortunately no fireworks allowed this year, but Max and Griffin's Uncle Dan brought some smoke bombs. Payson was not sure what he thought about it.
Dillon was thrilled they had their bounce house up - we could not get him out of there!
We had a great time - playing with cool toys...
eating popsicles...
Running from Daddy while he rode the electric scooter...
sneaking in a sparkler...
And having a blast with friends and family
Don't ya love P-man's expression in this photo!
Why Haircuts break my heart
Both Payson and Dillon have crazy hair. Todd loves it, he says that he is living vicariously through the boys. I think it is adorable also, but eventually it is time for a haircut. Of course Payson is spoiled and wants to go to the Kid's haircut places to be able to watch movies while he is getting his hair cut (read between the lines - MORE expensive!). I am fine with that, but when we go, I tell them to really cut it short. Their hair is so healthy, it grows quickly, so I say CUT IT! I say, that and then I regret it for just a few moments after their cut because they look soo old.
Should of done before pics, but here are the after pics. Aren't they adorable?
Of course, the reward is always a lollipop!
Our last week of June was filled with fun - Payson attended Vacation Bible School at St. Luke's. He was thrilled to be back at his preschool and they did an amazing job. At the end of the week he had a basket full of art projects and they did a musical performance that must of made the kids feel like celebrities the amount of cameras and videos was unbelievable!
One night when Todd was in Keystone I surprised the boys with a visit to their favorite place ever - The Children's Museum. Payson wants me to state, it is his favorite place in Colorado. His favorite place ever is of course - Disneyland!
A quick trip to the Apple Store proved to me that Dillon is convinced that ever screen is a touch screen. Guess I have to prep him early for success!
