Ski School - Keystone 2012

This ski season Payson is scheduled for many ski lessons and he is very excited. Todd and I can not wait until he is able to go down some runs with us. Dillon wants to be a skier also - and he will be, first up, he has to be potty trained to take a lesson! We headed up to Keystone a few weeks ago for our first lesson of the season. Can you tell he is excited?
While Payson was in his lesson I had the pleasure to ski with my 7-year-old niece, Susie. She is an awesome skiing partner - nothing intimidates her and she is able to ski anything. We had a blast!
We stopped skiing a little early this day to go check out Payson in his lesson - he was excited to show Susie his skills. Here he comes from their afternoon snack break - the teacher is in the background and it is funny to see how they use the hooks on their vests to get the kids anywhere!
Here is a horrible video as the sun was setting behind the mountain, but I wanted to show an action shot of Payson. He informed me in the car home that he was really good at doing french fries with his skis, but still needs to work on his pizza! If you are wondering what Dillon and Daddy did while we skied, check out this video. Daddy and Uncle Ryan took Porter and Dillon sledding behind the house. The last sledding run of the day they decided to send the little boys down by themselves, as you can hear from the big boys, they are pretty impressed they made it over the bump without falling! Heading back for lesson number 2 this weekend - stay tuned.

Yee-Haw Cowboy - Stock Show and Rodeo Time

Time for the annual Land Family trip to the National Western Stock Show. The weather was beautiful and Todd was able to join us for the whole afternoon. The boys had a blast spending the afternoon with their cousin Porter also. We attended a Stick Horse Derby, checked out the Livestock, and ate yummy stock show food.
Ready for the Stick Derby - always fun to be around some Rodeo Queens.
A quick stop at the CSU booth and then it was off to test drive some tractors.
Payson needed a new cowboy hat, and wanted a black hat just like Daddy's.
Dillon thought he wanted a new hat, but changed his mind when he saw his own Stick Horse - of course he named it Bullseye.
Now with a real cowboy hat, Payson fit right in. Payson and Todd checked out the Cattle Competitions before heading over to the arena for the Rodeo.
Check out this cowboy scowl...
The Rodeo is always good entertainment - check out Payson's expression!

Dad's Away....Tim to Play

Todd had a conference to attend in New Orleans two weekends ago, so it was time for the boys and I to have a great time. I felt like a bad Bronco fan when we had the Glen's over to watch a game and Payson and Dillon did not have Broncos clothes - so we raced around before the next big game to outfit the boys. Of course, they looked adorable, but their new clothes did not bring the Broncos good luck. Payson watched the whole game with me - even the 2 overtimes - that kid is growing into a great fan! Payson even made this great hat at PreSchool.
Win or Lose - the boys look cute.
We had a blast in the bath with new Cars Bubbles.
The boys then tried to convince me they should try to sleep in the same bed - good try, but NOT happening!
You probably noticed in the picture above how badly the boys needed a haircut - Todd was encouraging me to not get them a haircut, but eventually I looked at them and decided it was time. Luckily it was when Todd was out of town!

A Typical Day With Boys

Yep, this video pretty much sums up the majority of my conversations with the boys. No major need for explanation, just sit and enjoy watching a glimpse into my day.

Bronco Fans for Life & Eating Our Ways Through New Year's

Todd and I are long time die-hard Bronco Fans. We really thought this was going to be a SuperBowl year - what a disappointment the last game was. In all the hype and excitement we were thrilled to have the Glen family over to watch a game. Robert, Margot, Max and Griffin are huge fans and combining our families together is always an adventure!
As I said, we did not have wild and crazy New Year's Plans - the Rooney's were coming over for pizza and just some quality hang out time. Earlier in the day we had to run some errands and happened to stumble across a new restaurant for lunch. Dad and Dude Breweria - best place ever. Todd determined it was the best sandwich he had eaten all year. We will be going back soon!
Dillon found the best seat at the mall - right in front of the football game - Todd was so proud!
On New Year's Day we headed down to Colorado Springs to hang out with many friends from college. It is official, when we all get together, our children do now outnumber us! Between games there was a lot of football throwing and trying on Justin's helmets.
After a long day with friends we headed over to a great restaurant in the Springs - Wyatt's. This place is owned by a couple I used to work with Einstein's. They have created an awesome neighborhood bar. The Green Chili is amazing! You can see that Dillon was not interested in the picture - he wanted more of his Mac and Cheese.
As you can see, after many days of constant parties, Payson hit a wall. This kid rarely naps and this is how I found him one afternoon.

Holiday Break

The boys and I were so excited that Todd was able to take off the an entire week from Christmas to New Year's. It has been a very long time since he has taken off that much time in a row and we really enjoyed ourselves. The first half of the vacation Owen was still in town so he was able to join us at My Gym and the Children's Museum.
Our best attempt at a group shot - kind of hard after a long day of playing!
Each night we took turns practicing our skills at Mario Kart. Thank Goodness Payson does not get his driver's license for a long time, he is a horrible driver. He even admits it!
What a great way to end 2012 - we originally were going to go to the mountains, but instead we opted to stay in town and visit with many friends. We loved entertaining in our new house and it was great to see so many friends! No pics from New Year's but we enjoyed the night with some great friends and even watched the ball drop. That is a first for us in a long time!
