Tis the Season - Pumpkin Patch #1

I really can not get enough of the fall season. Especially up until the other day we have had nothing but amazing weather. Wednesday we had our first snowfall of the season and it made me realize that being home with the boys is going to be a little harder in the winter. I am just so used to getting out and doing outside things, and when the weather does not allow it, man, it makes for some antsy kids! Good thing is that I am realizing all of this now, and loading up on Groupons and other things for fun indoor winter activities. I think we will be set.

Until then, we will experience and take in as much of the nice fall weather that we can. The other day, we headed over to Hudson Gardens (all of a five minute drive) with our friends Julia and Jude to run through the pumpkin patch and hay bale maze.

Check out that great fall color.

Check out that adorable boy that really wishes he could run and keep up with the big kids!

The older kids played in the hay bale maze for a long time, so long that Dillon tried to go in after them. Since he still only primarily scoots, it was easy to find him. Notice the trail he leaves behind!

Pretty much impossible to get a good picture of the three of us!

But, we did get a great picture of the two boys!

After enough scooting in the dirt, Dillon found a pile of leaves and had a blast!

Payson's 4th Birthday Party - Calling all Super Heros!

So, the storm that we were a part of in California hit Colorado. And of course it hit us the day that Payson's 4th birthday party was scheduled to be outside. I had to put my back up plan into action and we ended up having a great party at our rec center instead. Payson had requested a Super Hero party, so the party began with all of the party guests making their own Suler Hero cape and mask. It was fun to see everyone's creativity on the projects.

Dillon is sporting his cape and looking good!

Dillon was excited to have his partner in crime, Grayson at the party!

After attempting to get a group shot, the Super Heros were hungry for cupcakes!

Even Dillon wanted to try his own cupcake.

After cupcakes we all headed down to the indoor turf for Super Hero training. Here the kids had to crash through a brick wall and lift heavy weights to gain their Super Hero certification. With the weather being so bad that day, the kids and parents had a lot of energy to burn off. The turf was great for everyone to run, play soccer and football and just have a great time!
Walking down to the turf cracked me up as Payson was the line leader and everyone was following him.

Payson showed his friends how to do the drills...

But...each child had their own style - it was so funny!

Dillon had a blast attempting to keep up with the big kids!

Even the big kids had fun with the kids toys!

Zane, Payson, Hudson, and Camden waiting their turn to run through the brick wall. Nonnie and Pops probably built that thing 100 times that day!

We opened presents at home and Payson was thrilled with all of the great gifts he received and Dillon had a blast with the boxes and the wrapping paper!

Todd and I were so busy we did not get a great family photo shoot in our Super Hero shirts - I did grab both the boys for some fun photos with just me!

Happy 4th Birthday Payson - it is so much fun to explore all the new things you are constantly learning. We love you to infinity and beyond!

Disneyland - Day 3

Our last day in the parks started out with a little rain that turned into a major down pour. So, yes our over priced ponchos got put to great use. Here are the guys gearing up for their day.

So, this is my only picture this day because it rained so hard I was afraid to get my camera out. The positive element to all of the rain is that the lines were super short and quite honestly Payson did not care that it was raining one bit. We spent the morning in Disney making sure we got on all of our favorite rides one last time and then Dillon crashed out for a nap in his stroller, I mean crashed. Took a three hour nap. One reason why the nap was able to go so long was that Todd and I made the responsible decision to get Dillon out of the rain so Todd headed over the the Grand California hotel to sit in the HUGE lobby by the fireplace and warm up. Todd was able to enjoy a few beers and catch up on Sports Center. Payson and I had a hot chocolate and we were off. Back out in the rain and having the best time ever!

Late that afternoon we were off to the airport and soon home to Denver. Both boys crashed out in the car on the way home and I think we pulled into our driveway a little after 11pm. Poor Todd had to get up and go to work the next day, but the little guys and I slept in a bit. When Payson finally woke up I said to him, wow, you really slept hard. Payson's response - I know, I though I was going to break the bed I slept so hard!

I love that kid and yes, we are already planning our next trip out to Disney!
