Mommy Weekend - Keystone 10k

This is a first. A post with no kid pictures.

I thought it would be a great idea to plan a girls weekend getaway to Keystone. Then I found out a race would be going on that weekend and a few of us decided to participate. Jen, Meg, and I decided to run the 10k on saturday morning, and Stacey did the 5k on Sunday morning. We signed up and did not read the fine print, it was a 10k trail run. Luckily, the course had to be adjusted a few weeks before the race due to fire in Keystone. I knew we were in trouble when the race coordinator told us that the half mile between 1.5 and 2 miles was going to be straight uphill and we would all have to walk. YIKES - and for the record I did have to walk half of it!

Yes...this is the hill.

I have to say, this was the prettiest race bib I have ever received.

But.....if lost in a ditch, please contact Todd.

We were all ready for the race - never mind that we were running at 9300 feet.

Crossing the finish line...

Way to Rock the 5k Stacey!

The free beer at the end of the race tasted great!

Thanks Todd for being a wonderful Daddy all weekend long. I promise I am not laughing at him, but I am laughing with him. I have to document these two stories.
1. Saturday Todd had to take the boys to a birthday party at Monkey Bizness. I had purchased the present, wrapped it, and placed it by the garage door. Unfortunately the present never made it to the party. Fortunately, the birthday boy lives nearby and Todd was able to drop it off later.
2. Sunday Todd decided to take the boys to the Zoo. In the rush to get out the door, Payson loaded himself into the car. When Todd arrived at the zoo and went to get Payson out of the car, he THEN realzed that Payson had no shoes on. Thank goodness the zoo gift shop sells shoes. I was shocked, but they do!

Ok....I could not really do a post without the boys. Payson can really make Dillon laugh. Check out this quick video!

Dillon's 2nd Word...So cute!

The 4th of July Question is....Not what we did, but what we didn't do!

A man after my own heart - he loves the candy store in the mountains!

Payson and I went on a date to see Cars 2 in 3D - pretty cool!

Just chillin' with Dillon in the hamock!

When needing a nap, just curl up in the wagon!

Wow - what a wild and crazy four day weekend! We had so much fun - Todd had Friday off and after a 9 month dr. appointment for DIllon he and the boys headed to Keystone. I had 48 hours to relax, watch movies, clean the house, and attend a friend's wedding. After the wedding I headed up to join the boys in Keystone. In Keystone we went out on the paddle boats, played by the river, tried to fish, and RELAXED.

Wow - somehow we did not get the memo that we were not invited to the Royal wedding, but instead to Paul and Sara's. Oh well, big hats were necessary!

At the pool or in the backyard....we love water!

As the heat continues, we are loving our time spent in the water. When Payson was enjoying running through the sprinkler, we brought the rubber ducky out for Dillon. Check out the pics - do you think he enjoyed it???

My favorite part of swimming, is how tired it makes everyone. There is no way you can look at these pictures and not feel relaxed! Notice the bottle that he barely finished before he fell asleep.

DIllon - 9 Months

Wow - can you believe that he is 9 months. Dillon is the happiest baby, but man does he want to be on the move. He has not figured out how to do that yet. I think it will be any day. DIllon has three teeth and the 4th on is popping through as I type! There is not a type of baby food that Dillon does not like, but he is not a fan of things with texture. We will work on that this month. Dillon loves to go on walks and goes crazy when we see a dog on a walk - even better was a trip to the pet store at the mall last week - he was in heaven. Another favorite thing is hanging at the pool which we will be doing a lot of this month!
Too cute not to share - after a long day of adventures it was just too much to make it through dinner!

Happy Father's Day - 1st Rockies Game

Payson was so excited to spend Father's Day at the Rockies game. And even more, he was not just going to the game with Todd, he was going with both Grandad and Pops. How cool is that! Not sure if Rockies games are totally Payson's thing, but he did get spoiled with many treats and when he just could not sit still any longer he was able to go join the thousands of other children that were on the playground at the ball park!
Payson's first game was against the Detroit Tigers, and the crazy thing is that for both Todd and Pops their first Major League Baseball game was seeing Detroit also!

It might be impossible to get a good picture of a 3 year old

Payson with Pops and Grandad!

My favorite guys acting goofy on Father's Day - Todd - you are a great Daddy!

Running - a family event

After I had Payson I found one of the easiest ways to work out was to go on a run. I have never really enjoyed running, but I somehow have stuck to it. I have found that I am starting to enjoy it more and more, and one thing I really like to do is compete in local races. The broken wrist sidelined me for a few months, but I knew I had to get my post baby body into shape so I needed to sign up for something for motivation. I found a great 5k race that was not far from my house (and down the streets from my parents house) that seemed perfect for our whole family. This race was put on by Parents Magazine and their message was that everyone in the family needs to get out and exercise. After my race, there was going to be a Kid's Dash and Payson was very excited to participate. He was even more excited when I first told him we were going to be in a race and he asked what color race car would we get!
Overall the race went well, my time was better then I expected and it was a hilly course, I heard many people complaining about that at the end. Todd, Payson, Dillon and my mom were on hand to cheer me on at the end, and Payson was so excited he ran onto the course and ran the last couple 100 yards with me. There was plenty of food and play things for kids, and Rocky the Nuggets mascot came out to help with the kids race.
