Land Family Disney Vacation 2013 - Day 1

The boys have been having their countdown to Disneyland for months -so needless to say they were ready to go when we headed to the airport at 6am.  Their motivation was that we told them we would be eating lunch at Disneyland.  The past few years we have stayed on site at a Disney hotel, but this year we took the advice from some friends and tried a new hotel.  We stayed at the Hyatt which was about 10 minutes away from the park entrance.  We can say without a doubt this hotel was AWESOME!  It had a suite and the boys had their own room with bunk beds.  There was also a kid's lounge in the lobby with non-stop Disney movies playing.  The shuttle ran every 15 minutes from the hotel to the parks - overall we give this hotel an A+ and look forward to staying there again!  The boys were thrilled with their new luggage from Uncle Jon and Aunt Christina - we got plenty of compliments around the airport.
Testing out the bunk beds - too bad they were so exhausted each night to really enjoy their beds.  They pretty much just fell into their beds and were asleep.
 Disneyland - we have arrived!
Payson is obsessed with Star Wars and he was thrilled that the first people we saw in the park were Storm Troopers.  It was a sign that we needed to go to the Jedi Training Show.  Todd and I had prepped Payson to jump up and down to be selected and luckily he was - it was the greatest show ever!

The Jedis were giving their instructions and practiced using a light sabers!

Then we got a visit from the dark side…..

And the Jedis were ready to fight.

But - the good guys always win.

Payson received his certificate and he is an official Jedi and he is so proud.

After Jedi Training the thing to do next was go ride the Star Tours ride - Dillon was about as excited as Payson!

Eventually the earlier morning hit Dillon and he took a nap in the stroller - this allowed Todd and Payson to enjoy Splash Mountain a few times.
Everyone was pretty excited to see some of our heroes!

The Buzz Lightyear Ride was a favorite - it turns Mommy and Daddy into kids again!

Overall we were all so happy to be in Disneyland - we ended the night riding the rockets watching the fireworks over the castle - pure bliss and happiness.
